ms 65 rd. you could send to PCGS but I wouldnt expect any higher in terms of grade. PCGS prefers clean devices (ICCS likes clean fields). So I think you'd get a 65 red from PCGS too, just because of the mark on her nose and cheek, as well as the chatter along her neck/cheek

Beautiful coin MS 65 red I believe PCGS would cross-grade MS 65 red also. May as well leave it in ICCS.

This should be sent to PCGS, where it will receive the MS65 Red assessment it deserves. Fantastic piece.

Absolutely yes to PCGS. The value in PCGS grades with Canadian bronze is in the colour (coins designated as "red" get two bonus points in registry points). So a MS-64 Red can be more desirable than a MS-65 RB. A registry set player would bid strongly for this coin.

MS-65 for me too. I hope it has the Obverse designation as Obverse 2. Charlton only go as high as MS-63 for this coin and it's $6500.
Cheers, Bill

So....This coin is rare enough in MS64 and never seen in MS65 (ICCS or PCGS). PCGS has only ever graded one in MS-64 "red" (From the Belzberg collection) which sold in 2003 through Heritage. Personally I have never seen many nicer cents in hand so to see this coin get an MS64 at ICCS I thought was conservative but I can understand where designating a coin a sole condition survivor takes some pondering. I'm not sure where this coin lost points. I recently got back an 1896 MS65 (posted here) with much less appeal. So off to PCGS it goes with a resonable shot at a 65. BTW, note the error on the flip...Maybe it was just a rough day....

I was going to say 66. I think it's a great coin. The obverse lettering and bust is simply amazing.

Are the pictures not working for anyone else? Would like to see the coin and the links seem to be broken.
