I picked up a 1986 Prestige Mint Set that did not have
the Presentation Case with it.

Any chance I could locate just the case ?

Thanks,

Richard S.

Didn't see any empty boxes for sale but shocked that they are available for less than $25 WITH coins, box and COA

Even less without the box !!
I paid $18 for a 1986 set, must be worth that in silver alone.

Thanks for the reply,

rs

Ellis Island half is clad.

The 1982 Washington and 1993 Bill Of Rights halves are the only modern commemorative halves to be minted in 90% silver. All of the rest are CUNI clad.

This might be a good learning experience.

With a little research, you might see it would have been better
to find a problem free set, with all the OGP.

If you can find the OGP without coins you might end up paying
more buying the set like this than if you just bought the complete
set in the first place.

I do like Prestige set, but they do not have a big collector based.
It might be a good time to put a set together, if you can buy them
cheap.

I know a lot of effort goes into posting that information
on CCF. I guess sometimes it is not correct.

In this case what Jack Jeckel posted is correct.

The only modern silver commemorative half dollars, at this time,
are the 1982 Washington and the 1993 Bill of rights.

I opened the case (easy to do) and only the Ellis Island Dollar is Silver,
the two Half Dollars are clad.
