I want to know a few things about this note:

1) It does not have any pin holes. What is the grade assuming the reverse is in the same condition as the front?

2) Does the wider border on the left mean that this note would be worth more than a uniform border width?

3) Is there a site on the web that discusses errors and varieties for US currencies? What is its address?

4) Approximately what would be a rough estimate of this bill's value?

thx

It is poorly centered and wouldn't command any premium. Now, if there was part of an adjacent note visible there would be more of a premium.

Just my Two Cents worth.

Note looks to be in Fine to Very Fine condition.

I agree with MeadowviewCollector, and will add that the border may even detract from any collector value.

4) Approximately what would be a rough estimate of this bill's value?

Maybe $25 to the right buyer.

I skipped question #3 because I do not believe it is an error.

This is about as far off-center as you can get without getting into error note territory. Must agree that this detracts from the note's value to a collector, but I doubt there are many collectors of this sort of note since it is quite inexpensive even brand-new (original print run of over 30 million).

To me, it's a spender unless the reverse is off even more!

...and the debate continues.

I'm sure glad you mentioned to recheck the reverse which I totally neglected.

It appears that the rev. side's border is actually a bit wider compared to the obv. side...

Here's my dilemma: putting this note on ebay or just throwing down at a local auction.

I know it's all a gamble but does this incrementally added extra width give this bill more validity to justify it under the 'error' class?

I'm all ears for suggestions regarding anything I alluded to in this post.

After rechecking the rev. I decided to delve into the details even more.

The measured width of the areas (printed-within the fine lined green border) is as follows:

rev.: 5 9/16"

obv.: 5 3/4" or 5 12/16"

The actual image on the rev. seems to have been proportionately shrunk. It's not just a fact that a same sized image simply shifted more from side-to-side.

Is this a common occurrence and does this fact make it an error?

I wanted to show you an example of an actual error.
A cutting error usually shows part of the adjacent note in the margin.
