The best way to find out if this coin is real is to take its dimensions and weight and see if it matches the description. That should be 15.5mm in diameter and 2.08 gram in weight. You can also take it to a dealer or pawn shop with a metal scanner to have it checked, but they may charge you a bit for it.

Tip: Always post both sides of a coin and provide as much information as possible. That helps in determining if it's real or not.

1) They made no 2 1/2 peso gold coins in 1921.
2) Both sides are "heads".
3) Crude design.

Here is an example of a genuine coin dated 1919.
