Had a opportunity to pick up some Canadian double dollar set to my U.S. Prestige collection. So I did. It also gave me the opportunity to check out my Prestige sets. I see that I am still needing two sets 1996 and 1984. For the past couple years I have been trying to add a lot of Canadian and Mexican coins. I think the four sets I picked up today are good addition .. U.S sets Canadian set 1985 1987 1992 1993

Those look nice. I admit, they fool me when I see them on the ebay listings, thinking they are Prestige proof sets.

Beautiful sets. I love the Canadian coin designs in these sets - especially the larger silver dollar sets.

Great additions to your US set collection! Do you plan to collect all of the Canadian Sets?
My favorite is the set with the 1989 silver dollar. The details included in the design and the sense of motion the artist was able to convey on the Mackenzie Exploration SD really makes the coin stand out among its peers in the series - at least in my opinion!

Canadian coins are the closest to U.S. coins, as far as having the same or similar denominations. I really like how the are good additions to my collections.

I love the Canadian Double Dollar sets but the shipping to Australia pretty much doubles the price of the sets They normally go for about $20 a pop which is great value considering the coins in the set But the postage is a real Killer

Quote: Great additions to your US set collection! Do you plan to collect all of the Canadian Sets? Thanks commems I would not be against it. For now I buy a lot of coins, as they come into the local shops. Some of the local shops will hold coins they know I will like. To have all the Prestige and Canadian double dollar sets, to me would nice jewel in my collection. So I can only hope I live long enough to complete them. I do have all the Canadian dollars up to 1999 in my Dansco Canadian type set. I agree the 1989 is a nice looking coin. I need to get better pictures ... One of my favorites is the 1994 with the sled dogs. Top left in this picture

Quote: I love the Canadian Double Dollar sets but the shipping to Australia pretty much doubles the price of the sets I can understand that shipping, I have been trying to figure out a good way to ship overseas it is expensive. In some cases it can double the price of the coins .. like these sets. I do add some Perth Mint silver each year to my collection. Like the Lunar Year of coins .. and other premium silver. I have wondered how much shipping adds to the cost I pay. Old picture .. I have the Monkey .. waiting on the Rooster Does Australia have sets ... like U.S. Prestige sets .. or Canadian double dollar sets?

Quote: Does Australia have sets ... like U.S. Prestige sets .. or Canadian double dollar sets? Yes there is an annual Fine Silver set that the RAM produce that Usually contain the circulating designs for the year in Fine Silver and Gold. They are pretty expensive but they are housed in rather nice wooden boxes, This years Silver set cost $350. This years set was a little bit different as I has the round 50c coin and the discontinued 1c and 2c coins, It also didn't contain the $1 and $2 coins which is a bit of a disappointment.

I've collected Canada's modern commemorative silver dollars for over 20 years at this point. Started with just the annual Specimen/BU coins, then added the special edition proof coins and then, eventually, one of every version released each year. The set (1971 to present) currently consists of 71 distinct types and 124 total coins. Here's a breakdown I've prepared of them: I enjoy keeping my set current with each year's new releases - it is an easy task via orders placed with the Royal Canadian Mint.

Very nice set ... I have not seen those before.
It will be interesting to see what U.S. Dealers would pay, if they come into Local shops.

@commems I have but a fraction of the coins on your list, awesome effort Mate The toning that some of these Silver Dollars sometimes acquire is quite stunning as well
