Looks like the die is suffering a breakdown. Some deterioration on the fields of the coin is showing. Seems common to find this on the single squeeze cents.

Are we talking about the rim within the true rim or the satinny texture of the fields or something else?

No, that is a plating bubble. (gas under the plating) This can happen on the devices, bust, buildings and like yours on the fields. No premium for this though.

Your first one was a 1914, this one is a 2008. Just for my benefit, what are you seeing?

I found this 1982 LMC and I noticed how the texture was different than other cents. Is this also due to gas under the plating? I noticed the lump right in the middle of Lincoln's neck. The I notice the round piece under "U" and "N" on the reverse. This is all over the front and back of the coin. Also, is the date Machine Doubling? Notice the edges on number 9,8 and 2. For some reason I see lots of doubling around letter on the back too. I need an expert advice please.

Another example of the poor rinse before plating on the zinc planchets. When they figured out the issue, it happens a lot less now.
