Over on cdn board ebay buyer discovered some very nice cdn coins he bought from a ebay seller are counterfeit, very high quality fakes, he even had them graded

You can find the thread here, interesting read http://goccf.com/t/271671&whichpage=1

The same seller also sold some Aussie coins, just wanted to see if you folks can see any issues

High quality fakes cannot be given the with the picture quality given here.

1. Need accurate weight.
2. Need accurate dimension against known genuine example.
3. Check for ring tone, if different alloy, (not needed if access to XRF instrument available).
4. Close comparative visual inspection of all design details, against known genuine example.
5. Inspection and comparison of edge milling.
6. 20X inspection of the surface against known genuine example, checking particularly for high pressure casting.

If any doubt, leave well alone.

I have even seen good quality silver fakes, where the genuine is in copper nickel.

They are fakes.
You can tell by the extra rim.

Troubling stuff - at a glance they don't appear suspicious.
