This 2016 Silver Eagle graded Proof 70 what were they thinking? Rim damage and knick in the field left of the E in Liberty would you send back.

NGC has been more lenient with the 70 grade than PCGS. Many view an NGC 70 as a PCGS 69. Such is the game.

Grading is a very inexact science, but that is just plainly wrongly graded.

It's in an NGC PF70 slab I also have PCGS slabs. I think NGC got this one wrong.

That doesn't look like a rim damage to me. It looks raised and caused be an indentation in the striking die.

And for the knick by the E is looks like a planchet flaw or struck through a piece of lint or something.

If you want a 70 that is a better 70 than a star or + 70 (which don't exist) then you can buy one of the Wings of Bob Says It's Super Awesome Thumbs up sticker company coins.

The rim doesn't bother me to much ... but that is just me.

When there is a hit .. or mark of any kind .. in the mirrored
fields, that just jumps out for all to see.

When I am sending something in to be graded, a modern coin.
I will search the coin with a good glass, if I see any
imperfection, I figure it will not make a 70 grade.

I would not have sent this coin in. It would be cheaper
to just buy a 69 coin .. because of the cost of grading.
