I just saw a 1776 8 reales on e-bay. Now that is certainly not unusual. The unusable thing is it went for $305.77 and got 115 bids. It had all the characteristics I just read about. The right shoulder pad being triangular. The edge being milled. The earlobe being wrong and etc. We're these bidders just joking around fully intent on now paying. I absolutely am dumbfounded. Please look at this sale and tell me I am not dreaming. It can't be a valuable copy, can it? Not with it being so poorly done and having the milled edge.

Garbage coin, suspicious bidding pattern. Maybe it's a money laundering technique.

When you look at the bidding history, the majority of the bids were placed by two bidders. Bidding patterns look strange, too.

For an obvious counterfeit coin some people do funny things...especially the "winner" who appears to have been around long enough to know better.
