I just started collecting this year. I recently purchased 10 silver eagles from a reputable online dealer and I came across either a badly mishandled eagle or maybe something happened to it when it was minted. What do you guys think  Edited by Rbcortes 11/02/2016 10:44 am

 RB I am not an expert but now that you have the picture uploaded someone can better answer your question. Can you post a picture of the entire coin also?

I will upload full pic of coin at a later date. I just have ipad iphone stuff and I had to run to work to be able to upload that first one.

From that minimal pic I would say it had a bad day somewhere and has the scars to prove it ..and

 I agree, that a pic of the whole coin would be helpful -- and both sides please. So far, I'm leaning toward damaged coin.
