The coin may have been struck with grease, but it was also polished to death when it was in circulation. Worth what it says on the reverse.

Hmm... Sorry to be a bit contrary, and I really know very little French, but shouldn't the wording be "MON NICKEL" instead of "MON CELLO?"

Maybe in France. In the USA, it's supposed to be MONTICELLO.
