I don't think this note is fake but I don't understand why there is no watermark on this note. For the same series of 50p, I can find a clear-cut "three legs" watermark on the note. Who can help to explain why? Can anyone also tell the year of print of this note? Thank you in advance.

You more than likely have the 1983 issue of this note, it's a Tyvek, or plastic, note. The material was called Bradvek in the UK.

There is no watermark. The note is, if the plastic one, Pick No. 38, and worth a bunch more than the paper note in UNC. Mine came to me for the price of the paper note.

@paxbrit, thank you your reply. I think it is more likely to be a paper rather than a plastic note.

Nice note and very interesting read. I think paxbrit is correct in saying the note is P38. Here is a bit more info. Hope this helps.

The Isle of Man is the only issuer of a bradvek note, a One Pound which circulated from 1983 to 1988.

In case you're still wondering about a watermark or date, look @ 13a.

It's a woven plastic, has all the feel of a paper note. A bit sturdier. The tell is the lack of a watermark.
