Same source but a little more detail.

Quote:
"Cuzco hoard" in Peru In 2007 a metals refiner in Lima was presented with a nice surprise: One of his usual scrap-metal suppliers had secured a trunk full of silver coins, mostly 8 reales, all minted in Potosí and bearing the portrait of either Charles III or Charles IV of Spain, acquired from a lucky Cuzqueño who found the stash buried in the ground. Nearly all the coins were dirty and necessarily conserved, which revealed bright, high-grade luster on many of the coins. (source Sedwick Treasure Auction #5 April 2009)

From this one matrix we are seeing different dies to complicate this broken castle feature.

1. We know on specimens with an earlier date as in GNL the FEW XRF analyzed were counterfeit.

2. So now we see later dated issues inherent of the same matrix die? Legitimate? issues with this more? advanced die failure. More questions to ponder.

To be continued ... and we remain SUSPECT of this reverse die feature. Good word here ... more research needed particularly on these later dated issues.
