I don't care for colorized coins, but these niobium coins are cool!

Niobium changes color when heated so, to get the colors, these get 'baked' and 're-baked'. They are, in my opinion, a lot more interesting than painted coins.

Mint them, and they will buy!

I order four each year (from my bank). If you want one its best to order from the Vienna mint now as they are usually sold out ( with pre-orders) by the day of issue

Thank You! I didn't know that you could pre-order these.
Last year I waited and waited for the release and they were all gone. Then I ended up paying too much.

Looks like the release date isn't until June 7, 2017, so i'll be checking the Austrian mint site every couple of days for a while, it seems.

Check mid December that is when many people submit their pre-orders for the following year. I will also post when my bank has contacted me for me to submit my orders for next year

Thanks austrokiwi!
I've been checking and checking....
It is a very late release date. I wonder if they will delay accepting pre-orders because of the late release date.

I'll be very disappointed if this is true, but...checked the Austrian Mint website a few days ago, and it wasn't on there. Checked today, and it's there and listed as sold out.

I've been on that site several times and could never figure out how to pre-order the coins before they're released. They are probably only selling to dealers.
It's pretty annoying.

They are already sold out( and they haven't been issued yet). The problem for US buyers is that The Vienna mint no longer sells to American private buyers. I have heard rumors that suspected fraud is behind this.

I'm not worried. APMEX will have them. They had them last year. I over-paid because I jumped on the chance to get them as soon as I saw them for sale. The price dropped by $50 )or more) over a period of several months. So, I recommend patience. I don't know if I would believe anything about fraud. I think it's more a matter of the mint wanting to be sure that they sell them all so they get the dealers to commit to buying. Once they ship, I would expect prices around $150 or more. That will eventually drop to $90.
