The top one looks like a lamination peel. You generally don't see the devices inside the strike throughs that are that big...

Can the devices be seen within if it is a struck through cloth? It seems to have a texture inside of the effected area. Which is why I thought his coin was a strike through! Then again you know much more than I do about these things SPP

Seems odd that the effect stops exactly at the denticles on both ends.

it just looks off for a lamination, i'll leave it to you, SPP and the other error experts to decide what it is. here's a close up..

with an anomaly that large wouldn't the weight confirm if it was a (de)lamination issue vs strike through?

That is a very nice strike though...
It would be nice to know what it was striking though

My opinion is that Dollarman's coin is either a delamination error as SPP mentions or a planchet error, as you can see the devices in the indentation.
In contrast, there are no devices in Apitrix's coin, which indicates a strike-through error.

That is not enough metal to really make a difference - the range of tolerances for coins back then would surprise you...

@SPP this is true...i can see why you'd say it's a lamination...the rims especially though make me think strike through.
