here's an interesting one..the title says what I think is going on..perhaps something like the N.B. E/F..i'll let you guys discuss among yourselves and keep an eye on the thread..maybe a new variety?

What I am curious about on this is that you can see what looks like 3 strikes on the F. There is the lowest showing the F, possibly a second remnant strike or reengravement, followed by what looks like an inverted L. Can you take a closer picture to show exactly what it going on please? Most interesting.

I dont see anything going on here. Looks like a regular coin, not a variety.

@C-V it appears to be an inverted L stamped over a die where the F was chipping away on the hub.

Could it be a die clog? On a regular L punch inverted (upside down) the base of the L would be going the other direction. It would take a backward L punch inverted to do that.

this is true about the L having to be backwards..

it looks nothing like a die clog though..it looks like a broken hub lettering which is common on these.
