I can not imagine what a set that nice looks like. Most of us could never put a set like that together ... very good accomplishment

Major Congrats are indeed deserved for that awesome accomplishment. The only thing that comes to mind that would even compare, is that guy who completed a full set of mercs from metal detecting. However, the possibility of duplicating that feat of Carl's is so far out of the realm of normal possibility for the average collector that it would seem to exist only in some alternate universe. Most of us would be happy to own a complete set in FRD (fairly readable dates). I pulled a set lacking only the 16D and 21D in vg or better from circulation when I was a teenager. But it was stolen from the house while the family was on vacation.

Congrats on the set brother I too used to think that that one would be impossible. yet at that same show last Sunday, one dealer had one with about 90% FSB's and another with about 80%. His prices were close to $1,000 each so I passed. For now I have one and for set #2, may take a while. I'll try taking some photos soon of set #1 for a just in case something should happen to it. Sure is an amazing looking set. And oddly enough, the hardest coin for completion was the 26S. THANKS everyone for the compliments.

Amazing indeed.
But a question - I take it all of them were at one point slabbed, which is how you know they are FSB, is that right?
And if so, by cracking them, are you not subjecting yourself to the risks and costs of re-grading when it comes time to sell? I mean, no one will give you 65FSB money for raw examples of the many monster dates in this series.
Tell us more!
