Sorry, it looks like it was artificially toned by heating on a stove.

I wasn't really expecting it to be natural. Basic rules of copper: THEY DONT HAVE THE SAME TONING AS SILVERS!! You just CANT have turquoise or purple coppers that haven't been tampered with. At very minimum, it's REALLY unlikely that you would.

Yeah - I wouldn't touch that.
Looks like the artificial toning is covering up a cleaning.

Quote: where is this rumored "URL" button If you "switch to full reply", the 5th button from the right looks like a globe with a couple links of chain. Is that what you are asking?

To me, personally, artificially toned coins are not pretty - they are ruined.

Quote: Also, when posting links, where is this rumored "URL" button? Unfortunately, it does not appear anywhere on my screen. It depends on how you are replying to the thread. If you are clicking the reply to topic link at the top of the screen you will see a group of buttons labeled Format. The one with a globe and to chain links on in is the one you want. (It is between the HR and the email buttons.) It will give you the URL HTML tags and you put your link between them. Down If you are replying at the bottom of the page with the quick reply box, below the box you will see a button marked "switch to full reply". Click that and it will take you to the same reply screen as the "reply to topic" link at the top of the thread. For URL links though you don't have to use the URL tags. If you just put the url address into the reply the forum software will automatically make it a hyperlink.

At very minimum, it's REALLY unlikely that you would. Basic rules of copper: THE SURFACES SHOULD NOT BE GLOSSY AND COLORFUL WHEN THE COIN IS IN A VF GRADE. Glossy is bad (with the exception of pre-1839 large cents), and the color should be brown for all circulated grades less than AU (and brown in most cases of AU). Seeing how the surfaces are glossy AND colorful AND the coin is a VF grade, I can only assume that the surfaces are not natural (aka cleaned). Stick around the grading forum; you will start to learn how to grade accurately and how to detect natural/unnatural surfaces.

That coin has been cleaned(most likely dipped in commercial coin cleaner) and retoned, acetone had absolutely nothing to do with it.
