hey guys (and gals?)

its been a minute since ive been able to get some time to stop by...

last weekend an old buddy of mine grabbed a md from his neighbor and we went out for a little bit to newer local park in valley to try it out. I just wanted to see how I felt operating a machine before my first purchase...

it was a "cheapy" bh 2200, that thing was all over the place in regards to its tones, we had tossed out some pocket change to really see the differencr in alarm tones for metal detected, I eventually learned the machine but it wasnt as friendly as some others ive seen on reviews from youtube.

funny thing towards the end I really wanted to share,

i thought to myself after digging many a hole and seeing it was a false alert, I remembered reading an older gentleman post on here somewhere how he hates seeing the cheap md on the shelves at big box stores due to the fact that they only discourage newbies because of how frustrating they are to operate LOL!
so I laughed to myself and kept going for pure amusement!
AND GUESS WHAT! I found my very first stinkin lincoln! SCORE I said while laughing, it was as if the powers to be said, heres a bone, now come back with a better machine ...

anyways, longer post then I thought it be when I wanted to share my little story. Have a good one!
Rest in Peace

Congratulations on your Lincoln.

Very nice post. And sounds about right for a first time out.
With a good detector and time to learn what it is telling you,
you will do much better
Rest in Peace

I know there are some very expensive detectors out there. Just remember to keep it fun.

I'm glad you got to give it a try before buying anything.

Enjoy your first find!

thanks! I'm leaning towards the Whites Treasure pro md for my first, from the many of hours of reading around online about, well ALOT! of metal detectors I feel it will prove to be a good one for me...but yes it was nice to swing one around prior to buying one. even more so tho I'm actually glad I could "listen" to the machine and knowing it was going to be less a hunt with less the quality my fun was high with low expectations...

til next time!
