Nice coins but their numbers don't add up.

They show 3 or 4 EB Dubloons in the list but only show 1 1913 nickel but mention the prices realized for 2 others in the description which would wipe out the 2 lowest coins on the list

There were two large cents in the Dan Holmes I sale that brought over one million each and they aren't on this list either so knock a couple more off the list.

They also mention but don't show another 1804 dollar. Withthe 1804 dollar the other two 1913 V nickels and the Two Cents I mentioned that should knock all the sub 1 million dollar coins off the list.

There are also at least four other coins that have been bid high enough to have made the high end of the list but which didn't sell because they didn't meet the reserve.

Plus I am pretty sure I remember that the Australian 1,000 KG, $1,000,000 gold was made for the specific purpose of being the world's most valuable coin, which it did easily with a metric ton of pure gold.

Plus, I know it's impossible to quantify, but I bet that there are plenty of off-market coins in the Smithsonian and other museums that would blow these records out of the water.

Interesting article. I do agree, opinion seems to have some effect on the list, as does ignorance of other notable coins listed above.
