Royal Canadian Mint - Designed by Canadian big game sculptor Karl Lansing, this coin offers a sculptural celebration of an elusive hunter in the wild. Uniquely shaped to resemble a cougar (Puma concolor), this silver, gold-plated embellishment rises up from the coin's surface for a stunning, multi-dimensional collecting experience. The cougar's muscular appearance is on full display as it slinks close to the ground, its long tail gently curved behind it. While the paused movement belies the cougar's ability to pounce with lightning-fast speed, it does allow for a rare view of this secretive species' features, including finer details such as the texture of its fur. 2017 Pure Silver Gold-Plated Coin - Sculpture of Majestic Canadian Animals: Cougar

It looks like the first coin. If you placed the 1st coin next to the 2nd one you could hardly tell the difference between them. Imagine subscribing to a $6000+ set that look all alike.
Plus what kind of phoney description is this:
"including finer details such as the texture of its fur" or "its long tail gently curved behind it".
You can't see any of that because it is a just a glob of whatever. There is no detail at all.

I have to agree. This one looks terrible. Why is the cougar lying down on the ground? Grizzly looks much better IMO.
Bromberg was saying last night that he thinks the last one (wolf) will be popular. He also reaffirmed that he was involved in the development for this series.

Not a fan. Just looks like gold gum stuck onto a silver coin.

Dollar store trinket stuck to $22 of silver. All for the low, low price of $1100!

The max I'd ever pay for this ugly trinket is FV. And do you know what? I am sure there are enough gullible folks out there that they will sell a few hundred of these ...

Quote: Dollar store trinket stuck to $22 of silver. All for the low, low price of $1100! Weight of the coin is 315.71 grams, or about 11.12 US ounces. So there is about $245 of bullion there. Therefore, a 5 times bullion value for a price is just about right for many of the mint products produced and sold... (not that I agree with that!). Personally these are not coins in my opinion... but they would make great Monopoly playing pieces!!

I purchased the second coin on impulse and then I gave my head a shake.I have just cancelled the second coin (the Cougar) because of that reason. First they look the same as the grizzly bear but much uglier. Second they increased the price without letting us know, and third it's another commission coin by Steve Bromberg. Oh and there's a fourth I don't know what the heck you want to call it, a piece of art or a coin or just plainly a blob of silver thrown on top of a coin and call it unique. What's next coins with miniature royal doulton statuettes. when will it end. Phew, I'm exhausted

According to the Q&A for this coin the reason for the price increase is explained this way: Quote: Your question is not attached to a specific product, but I would assume that this refers to the pure silver gold-plated sculpture coin. If you buy these coins in a subscription, the price for each coin from #1 to #5 remains at $999.95. However, if you buy them individually, only the first coin has the price of $999.95; the price for coins #2 to #5 has been increased to $1,099.95 each.Answered on 11/22/2016 by Yudi (Product Team) from Ottawa
