Hi,
I found this penny in a box of coins today. It is a 1956-D Wheat penny with two "D" mint marks. Is this an error coin? If so, what kind of error is it and is there much of a premium for it?
Thank you!

Looks like a 1956D-1MM-001 to me, probably the best example of a repunched mintmark in the series. Maybe sell for $5-$10?

This is not an error coin, but a die variety, specifically a re-punched mint mark.

The one John listed can be seen here: http://doubleddie.com/311201.html

Scroll down until you see it.

Nice find.

The one mentioned at doubledie.com is the same coin, but on that site it has the designation of 1956-D 1¢ WRPM-001.

Each resource has their own nomenclature system.

The one John mentions is the system at coppercoins.
