Totally had no intentions of buying anything, but happened across this by chance and, well, yeah, a pretty coin at a good price, and look what happens. 1878-S $2.50 gold, PCGS holder. Looks semi-prooflike in areas. I thought it looked pretty nice. What do you think for a grade?

It does look semi-PL with nice eye appeal in the images. I'm thinking AU55 but I've seen such pieces market-graded into low MS holders.

Seems to have no wear but there is a lot of friction and fine scratches in the fields. If judged MS by PCGS it should top out at MS-61 due to the plethora of small marks. I'd call it AU-58 based on these photos.

Most of you nailed this one straight away!

I just need a $1 and a $20 to have a Liberty Head type set.

If I were a CAC member I might try to get this one beaned.
