44, what I seem to see appears to be Machine Doubling. As I think I see it on both the date and the MM, as I understand it, it would have to be Machine Doubling as the die was hubbed and then the MM was applied by hand latter That said, the separation the the lower left corner of the "D" is interesting. It will be fun to see if I am an where near right on this on.

to me it looks like simple die wear on the date. Possibly a RPM, but I have little experience with RPMs.

Appears as a very slight Machine Doubling. I don't really see to much that appears as a RPM.

Fact: You do have an RPM.

Fact: It is not one of the ones we currently have listed to include #61.

Fact: At the least, very good images of any markers would have to be included for anyone to identify the die.

Fact: There are a LOT of similar RPMs for 1961D, and there's no way you can identify it with the mintmark alone from anyone's listings.

Supposition: It's probably not a doubled die, I see no evidence in your image.

Most see the mark on the to tip of the 6 and assume it is a doubled die, but that was common that year and is on all Cents.

Additionally, your title is confusing...you say, "RPM? or DV"

If you mean Repunched Mintmark (RPM) and die variety (DV)...

All Repunched Mintmarks ARE die varieties. Can't be an "or" clause.
