If its 1988 cent then you might have one there as it looks like the RDV-006 reverse to me. I've been fooled before so wait for better eyes than mine. Thanks, Doug.

Edit - Can you confirm which mint? One I read is more scarce than the other.

The photos are of a normal reverse for a 1989 cent. If this is a 1988, you've got something. If it's a 1988-D, you've really got something.

The 1988-D is the rarer of the two.

It is the 1988 D... So if I have something what do I do with it? Besides keep it. because I probably won't if it has any value.

This looks like the one! Congrats. These go for a good amount. Especially in the condition yours is in. Remember not to clean it and hold it on the rims.

It might be damage creating the downright. There should be a horizontal bar inside it. Better pics would help.

Forget the horizontal bar, the top of the 'G' is a better guide:

Note the location of the top loop. If the reverse die is worn on a 1988 coin, it is no the RDV-006.
I yet to see a worn die on the 1988 RDV-006 coins.

IMHO,the first photo shows the FG of 1989. If it is a 1988-D coin then you have IT! I have found one 1988-D and two 1988-P.

Yes nice find! I found an 88-P. I identified it by the different font, but like Coop says, the upper loop of the G works even better.
