That's the nicest 1909 VDB I've ever seen - is the mark through the hair a scratch or something on the original die? That's the only thing I see keeping it out of very high grades. I'll say MS-65RB to start.

Yes matte proof came to my mind also . Beautiful V.D.B., to bad about a couple of black spots . MS65RB .

There's an issue on the right wheat stalk as well, but I don't think these problems detract from a really spectacular example.

Quite a few field distraction and a few carbon spots. It's a nice looking coin though!
