So this morning I removed the carpet to one room as I will be converting it into a gym. I posted it on kijiji for free and while helping the person with the rug up the stairs...

Sheet-Of-$2-Notes...-Arrrrgh!

Sheet-Of-$2-Notes...-Arrrrgh!

At first I thought perhaps not so bad.... just the glass broke....

but.....

Sheet-Of-$2-Notes...-Arrrrgh!

one ARRGH in frustration... and then I just hung my head...

To make me feel better.. my 4 yr old drew me this picture..

Sheet-Of-$2-Notes...-Arrrrgh!

The picture and gesture really did make me feel better.. but thought I would post as you guys could probably feel my pain a bit more than anyone else.....

If anyone has suggestions on how to repair the tear I'm all ears.... Otherwise I'm just going to cut another piece of glass and press it back in the frame as is.

I'd be looking like that as well if that happened to my $2 sheet!

AgcoinAu if I can make a recommendation, I buy toploader sheets to put my rolls into so that this kind of thing doesn't happen. You can get them off of card dealers. Costs $10 but is worth much more in the long run!

Both of my sheets are in the same type of Toploader, all you do is buy one, cut the top part to not have any excess, and it is as safe as ever!

Not trying to advertise but this is what I get for mine:

Here's some help:

From the Smithsonian: https://blog.library.si.edu/2013/03....WEMYlVxpyVA

And another place to try: https://www.nedcc.org/free-resource...er-artifacts

Or just look up 'archival paper repair'.

There's help out there and, if you're willing, you can just pay to have it done for you.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

My wife with her job knows a few professional conservators.... hopefully they can either give me some tips and supplies... or perhaps even do the job... I know the value has gone to squat.. but I liked it as a piece of art... so I will probably end up getting it fixed..
Rest in Peace

I'm laughing because it's not funny. It's really not. But it is. Your sons present was priceless.

So while it's a bit disappointing that I have damaged and destroyed my $2 sheet...

There's a silver lining to this.... whole thing...

After rolling up and removing the carpet the "fitness room" looked like this....

Sheet-Of-$2-Notes...-Arrrrgh!

Late last night I finished the rubber flooring and then assembled the "home gym" (which I don't recommend doing yourself!!)

This evening was the very FIRST time I have used the home gym in my new house and I absolutely LOVED it!

Can't you precision cut your $2 sheet into like blocks of two banknotes and throw them on ebay.

Just be honest that they were cut by yourself.

People love the novelty of having two banknotes stuck together! :)

You'll more than make up enough to buy a brand new sheet of $2's.

I agree with wilsonwu89s idea...have them cut, sell them off two at a time (I am in Winnipeg and would buy one or two from you), purchase the toploader and a new sheet, and voila, it never happened!
Otherwise, even if you repair it, you will always know where the cut was and it will always bug you...also the drawing from your son is priceless!
