Going through my quarters again,I came across this 65' That clearly has a crescent under the right wing. I checked it against a second 65' and there is no correlation. So what would this be called? As always thanks for looking and any and all advice is appreciated!

I don't see any other areas that exhibit any die clash, but I can't see anything else that it might be other than a die clash.

Die clashes only occur in the fields (because when die clash it is the fields that hit each other and it is the field/device boundaries that cause clash marks) so if there was a clash, maybe only the obverse die was retired/reworked and the reverse die, with very little field area stayed in use.

If you have an image manipulating program that will let you overlay a semi-transparent image over another one, you can take a photo of each side, make them the same size and rotate one over the other and see if the reverse clash lines up with an obverse feature. You might have to rotate one image a few degrees if the coin is not a perfect 180 flip. This may be difficult with a quarter but it works very well for Morgan dollars.

Here is an overlay:
1965-Quarter-With--Crescent-Under-Wing.
Looks like part of the back of the neck outline from a clash.
