PL 64. These are the most poorly finished of all the 1950s era Prooflike Dollars. The issue of 1956 was far superior with some coins even reaching levels of PL68. The 1957 coins are generally somewhat washed out in appearance with very poorly finished planchets that result in the somewhat pebbly and pocked mark appearance on the Queens shoulder and hair area. Also the centre of the Canoe is often poorly struck at the centres. Brilliance is often a problem as well as there are several very dull appearing coins in the issue. A 1957 in Cameo PL66 is scarce and a 66 Heavy Cameo is virtually unknown.
Being picky with this issue is the best advice in finding a really nice example.

Excellent information, thanks Pacificoin.
I noticed the pock marked date and faint
HB on the bundle in canoe as well as obverse
pebbly finish on QEII. Weak strike for sure.

What Pacific Coin sez....1957 is extremely hard to find in high PL and cameos......My PL66 Cameo was very expensive, relative to what that grade would cost in 1954 or 1956. FWIW, I also have a 1957 NGC PL67 that turned into a ICCS PL65, no cameo. The lack of finish on QEII shoulder will kill this coin's grade, and put it in PL63 range.
