I just picked up a nice little 2 Cent Piece and wanted to see what the CCF Members thought of it in comparison to PCGS.

Care to take a guess at the (unattributed) variety? 1865-2c---What-Do-You-Think-PCGS-Had-To-Say?

Thank you for your interest and comments!

Ohh, nice one! I'm torn between Unc and AU on this brown beauty. I'm inclined to go MS62BN on it I think. Is that a scratch running horizontally on the reverse or on the holder only? Can't tell, that would surely knock it down if it's on the coin.

I'm not spotting any rub. The WE appears to be slightly lighter, but I really can't see if it's rub or just a touch of lesser tone. I'm also not seeing any "luster" breaks on either side of 2 on the reverse. So I'm going with MS.

I would have to go with a 65 Brown. It's a very nice coin.

I'm torn as well, but I'll say AU-58. Beautiful example either way!

I see no luster, and WE looks worn. I'd say AU-55 at the most.

I saw the doubling in TRUST.

AU-55 or MS-62 BN. I see the doubling but does anyone else see the RPD on the 8?

There is something going with the "8", but it may be considered part of the DDO.

PCGS gave it an AU58

No it wouldn't. It would be considered an RPD. The date was always stamped into the die after the devices were hubbed.

I like the doubling on the bottom of the shield and arrows area. AU-58 because of the grease on the devices.
