here's a recent purchase of mine that I thought i'd share for your grading pleasure I tried doing the coin justice with these pics but it's pretty tough, 2 of the 3 sets of photos have been played with, not to make it look better than it is, but instead to be truer to the coin's appearance and contrast. so here you go, i'll post results tomorrow.

Nice one Dollarman.
I'll agree from those pictures with MS65.
Hard to tell if it is a SWL or not.

The coin is VERY reflective, I tried capturing that quality of it.. Very crisp details and struck from fresh dies.. Not SWL but it's an unattributed minor double HP.

actually, it's a SWL behind canoe..i don't think it meets SWL standards though as the bottom water line is longer than the middle one.

Have you tried bringing in pics that are closer to the 1200 x 800 pix..or ~300 kb allowable size..?

It would be nice if they were much bigger because they do look like very clear surfaces on these coins..

Looks like a SWL 1951 PL 65. Shot 66 . Wonderful coin.

That coin has got to be a PL, not an MS coin.

High grade too, probably a PL66.

Like I said, it is only a SWL at rear of canoe and a minor double HP..the front waterlines don't Make the cut for a SWL sadly also, no one has guessed the grade yet. I may post the results later tonight if we get a good amount of guesses..otherwise I'll stick to posting the grade tomorrow some time.

Hmm. I really like the cameo to this coin, along with the lettering showing a strong strike. Sadly, you can tell there is a bit of a weaker strike on the hair around his ear, which I assume would not allow it to be at the highest end. Too reflective and the cameo tells me that it is not a MS coin. Either a PL or SP.. As for grade I am going to guess 65, not sure of the PL or SP though.

Sometimes referred to as die burn, the lack of strike in the hair, neck and jaw is caused by lots of tiny contact and a somewhat pitted texture on the planchet before strike. It is very common and doesn't detract from the grade.
