I'm working hard on recognizing Machine Doubling. I think that is what I am seeing on the reverse of this penny. Heavy on the left side of memorial and the letters TED and ATES of United States. Am I correct?

I agree. Did you note the MD is not the same across the board? That is a common thing. It can be strong and weak on three devices.
