I picked up these old notes a couple months ago for around $5 altogether. Can anyone tell me anything about them? Things such as values for each and how I can store them safely. I was thinking of putting them in page protectors since I can't find holders that size.

The values are not much, the notes are commonly found in XF, AU, and UNC condition. That $2 bill is enough to buy any one of them, I think.

To protect them, you can get 5x8 mylar sleeves, about 50 cents apiece, or just use the office-goods sheet protectors. The value of the notes really doesn't justify much expense on storage unless you are just getting started.

If you like foreign currency, and intend on getting some more, then do get some mylar sleeves. APCPaperCollect.com is about the cheapest source I've found.

As an aside, the cost of storing a banknote collection can really add up over a lifetime. Albums and pages can reach to over a dollar per note stored, depending on brand and model, while mylar sleeves in boxes will run about $0.40 per note. So, to me, the smart collector houses his collection in sleeves and puts the money he saves into a few more nice notes. I recently switched from albums to sleeves, looking forward at the expense of housing the collection was looking at about $300 a year for albums and pages vs. $120 a year for sleeves. If you start out using sleeves, your lifetime savings could be as much as $800 or more for a collection of 1,000 notes.

I love that old stuff. I used to have a number of them, not sure where they went. They are not worth much, but are an interesting historical artifact.

Good observation. I have a very small collection but have already spent a lot of money on storage (albums) already. I split my collection between sleeves in currency boxes and albums.

Then there's TPG costs if you go that route.
