Considering how many coins the RCM issues, this comes as no surprise. Some of them are bound to be good.

Sorry if this sounds a bit cynical. I like many of the RCM issues, it is just that there are too many of them.

with oriole. When your tossing 200 darts a year at a dartboard, some will hit the bullseye.

Can't argue with the above, with that many designs issued something is bound to stick. Nice to see two of Canada's nominations are for circulation coins, albeit commemoratives.
Interesting that with so many NCLTs issued, Canada did not receive a nomination for 'Most Artistic Coin'.

Kudos also to:
Australia with 8 nominations.
United States with 5, not sure how many designs they release but I'm sure it's a small fraction of what Canada does.

Yep. The Sir John A. Mac coin is nominated for coin of the year, yet they are taking him off the $10 dollar bill. Sounds about right.

He and Laurier ($5 note) are moving up to the $50 and $100 notes, not announced who'll get which. Mackenzie King ($50) and Borden ($100), our World Wars I & II PMs, are losing their spots to make room for the change. It's undecided who will eventually be depicted on the $5 note.

This is also my favorite and gets my vote for COTY.

Cheers!
