With an 8x loupe this coin looks like a clear triple die with two extra eyelids south, a small one just under the lid with little gap and a larger one further south. Putting it under 30x it all gets complicated looking. I know these aren't the greatest photos, as this coin gave me the buggers trying to get the light right, but multiple angles should help.

Speaking of which...help! I still think this is a triple die and everything and anything north of the eyelid is just MD related to the big bit on the forehead while there are two distinct eyelids south. Really appreciate opinions and the only thing I can find similar that is listed has way different die markers http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=lds

On the coppercoins example here:

You can see what look like three eyelids. But note, they only attributed the lower. Why? A lot of die wear happens on the steel dies and steel blanks. You can even see die wear on the copper planchets and the steel dies. Die flow happens on the nose area:

Note the marks that die flow lines appear to make in this area. But doubled eyelids are at a certain angle. They follow the shape of the eyelid:

On your coin the only correct angle is the center one. But being small, I doubt it is a doubled eyelid. The other two are from die wear, so the center one that is smaller is probably also die wear.

That sounds very, very reasonable. I think I buy that and call it a nice steel cent with no extra eyelids. Thanks a ton for the explanation, as it was quite helpful.

I am seeing two eye lids and MD. Notice the doubling on the forehead and nose.
