I just coma across this about 20 minutes ago, and had to share. The die chip on the ribbon of the hair on the obverse,then the huge clump on the reverse on the third horse. Can this huge thing be a die chip? I'm in a hurry so thanks for looking and all help is appreciated!

Looks like die chips from what I can see. Looks like the die is aging, but I don't see other evidence that it is?

I like finding interesting coins like this one ....

Nice find. Looks like the chips were layered in stages as more pieces fell off of the dies.

As Coop said, the die wasn't worn, so I guess it must have been damaged. Very nice chip on the ribbon and awesome chip on the horse!
