I found this coin in the same roll as the double reverse. My best guess is a faulty planchet,But not sure. Thanks for the advice!

Looks like something fell onto the coin before it was struck, then peel off later. It was wrapped over the edge a bit. You can see the outline of where it was during the strike. Struck through error. Planchet was fine, just some debris fell over the planchet before the strike.

Although minor, it might be useful as an education piece to a new collector. (you never know when you will find another one of these that show it that clear) An error collector might be interested as it shows that it peeled off the coin after it was struck. But probably not of a premium though. I have about 12 one cent tubes that I sort event coins in. That way if I need an example, I just check the roll to see them if I need an image.

Yes, it is a D. The Philadelphia mint does not put a P on it, it's just the date.
