Came across these 1943s today at my LCS. Wondering what's going on with them. Great looking coins in person, are the plated or proofs? Just not sure what's going on with them. Sorry for the crappy pics, one have access to phone.

Those should be steel cents. Is the color off, because from the pictures they appear to be gold plated.

It's the lighting. They look chromed. No gold coloration all

There are companies that re-plate steel cents. That's a possibility

I agree with Fuzzy. Replated coins, sometimes called reprocessed.

They are plated,no proofs that year.

They are plated, but I always keep one to show what they look like to help distinguish them from a real MS.

I've seen so many of these over the years that it's a wonder there are any 1943 left that ARE NOT plated.

Plated as plated can be. Mox, I own a few that aren't replated. Somehow!

Dustin , I have about 3,300 that are not reprocessed representing all 3 mints .
