Otherwise you could describe it as being struck on a damaged planchet. The error itself isn't that impressive, but the host coin is. While errors of this date are relatively uncommon, there seem to be quite a few minor errors like this. I have seen maybe 5 shield cents with similar issues sell on ebay; unfortunately I don't remember what they sold for. Your best bet will be to list it on ebay with an accurate title, in the correct category, to get the best price. Report this Post to the Staff
