The obverse has a somewhat normal-looking out of collar doublestrike, but there is no imprint from the second strike on the reverse. The reverse is just the first strike smeared out like this side of the coin was in space when the second strike happened. Or did it hit on top of a new blank planchet that was in the collar and create a brokage on that coin?

Double strike, First strike normal and think second strike was created as an off center and indent against a another unstruck planchet . Thanks, Doug.

edit: forgot to add off center above.

Good eye Coop. Might have been dropped. I took a close up of the rim there and clearly a dent, but it wasn't something that flattened the rim detail. Not sure how such a thing could be there other than PMD, but it did bounce around to get double struck so maybe something happened there. I'd have to call it PMD unless someone knew how that could be caused during the strike.

Tropicalbats, while researching something else, I ran across this point to ponder and it reminded me of this post showing a smooth concave ding or glancing blow that was thought to be PSD.

The off center with a "sideneck strike" (see Mike Diamands / error-ref discription in link below). Reading the description makes me wonder here as it shows some similarities in its location at 1:00, its concave, and distance from the point of impact of this coins off center strike is very similar to the hard blow shown on the off center strike in error-ref.

So has me thinking possibly or potentailly a similar senario leaving the concave damage seen here, could've occurred from a glancing blow or from the encroachment on the adjacent striking chamber during this coins second strike, which is off center. Thanks, Doug.
