It's the only one in the pics that looks to have a good shot at 66.

Is that the actual picture of a weak Obverse strike? I'm probably wrong but I thought when you get into the MS 66's and above do NGC, PCGS consider weak strikes in their gradings?

The 1883-O has a better than average shot, and the 1900-O has a long shot due to the weak NO strike and that cheek scratch, the others are solid 65's and would probably CAC in the grade.

FYI -- check that 1900-O really, really close -- look at the 2 stars just right of the date -- if they are doubled to the south, you've got a very scarce (and very desirable) double clashed VAM 15A, your coin appears to be a dead ringer for the die markers seen on the double clashed plate coin.

Adam I sent you a text. You are dead on with the vam15. How much value does it add? I may crack it out and send it in raw and have it attributed.

It's a top 100 VAM. Not sure how much value it would add, at least a slight premium with VSS attribution or from NGC/PCGS/ANACS. Cascade, Dave, or one of the other VAM Forum regulars needs to fill in a bit. Since it is a top 100, NGC will attribute it. You can cross it over and specify variety attribution, I think, although I'm not sure. If you want to leave it in the OGH, VSS is the way to go.

SSDC Registry has 2 66's at the top of the CC for 15A double clash, with a ton of 65's tied for #2, so this is not exactly a condition scarcity.

Edit: Most recent data I can find shows two 65 V15's in PCGS holders selling around $180-190 range at HA, both NAOH (unattributed VAM 15's.) This is a better coin for a 65, and in an OGH, so pricing would likely improve on that slightly, and maybe bring a bit more if a VAM collector was working on a T100 set or a double-clash set.

Is the 1900 O in a PCGS "doily" holder? If so, they command a premium. Would definitely NOT crack it or cross it over.

On a side note, I don't see any benefit in trying to crossover. Regardless of what might be deemed a higher value IF a higher grade is achieved by crossover or grading...definitely a cost versus return.

What are real world values of MS66 coins, in any TPG holder, actually trading for?

No. It's not a doily holder. But it's a 100% match for vam15a. I see sold ms65 VAM 15a selling in excess of $300.

With the new photos, I think all are MS-65.

I worry that the apparent hits in the lower right obverse field might keep this one to 64, but I agree on 65 on all the others.
