Recently, I sent two 1859 DP9 No.5 coins to PCGS for cross grading.
One was a CCCS MS60. The other was a ICCS MS60.
I came across this ICCS AU50 on
ebay and spit coffee all over my monitor.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1859-Large-....m2518.l4276I have ICCS VF30 pennies that look as good as this one, with the same amount of wear.
So is this simply "grading creep" or did someone swap out a real AU50 coin and replace it with a VF30 example?
This coin is not AU. Not even close. Not even PCGS AU.
I must admit I admire the courage of the Landon Sale buyers buying the ICCS MS66s and MS67s. I would bet those coins will never cross at PCGS.
