Ok, I had this idea a while ago, and now I'm posting it. Please don't move this to CRH forum, because that's not what this is. PCH! To be more exact, Pocket Change Hunting.
Rules:
No coin rolls.
No asking for oddball coins.
No asking for large amounts of one coin.
No banks in general.

Let me explain with an example. (Didn't happen to me, just an example)
I went to the dollar store and got a 1932 Wheat penny in my change!

I am excited to hear your PCH finds!

Rest in Peace

We already have a thread: Interesting Find From Circulation.

Sometimes CRH stuff ends up there, but it is meant for what we get in change. It was started a long time ago. Maybe that fits the bill for you. If it does, you have a couple hundred pages to read through.

By the way, it IS a good idea.
Rest in Peace

Roy , I don't think that's a new idea . I've been doing it for more than a half a century .
Rest in Peace

Nothing wrong with an old new idea. My only problem is that I probably don't use cash once per quarter.

Been doing that since the early 1970's as a teen. I remember the occasional silver dime and silver halves. Yep, we used halves and even Ike's because they had so much more purchasing power then, (we could buy a half-dozen chocolate bars back then with a 50-cent piece). I still get about a dozen wheats in change per year, as I use cash on a daily basis.

My collection started by accumulating from change.

This, since I was little and started to understand what money was. And I still do: every time I visit a new country or revisit a country where money has changed, I take home with me a coin set, usually from circulation and sometimes an official one made by the bank, depending on if such things actually exist where I'm heading. So, I've taken over 2000 different coins out of circulation, out of change, worldwide.

Anyway, during my last trip to the US, a few weeks ago, I got a Northern Mariana Islands State Quarter in change. That was nice, as I didn't have that one yet.
