I also wasn't sure! Although I can actually see a faint image that you can't really see in the images under the word America and above the word liberty, but I am certainly no expert :) this is the backside of the coin .

To me it also looks like coin wrapper damage. The line scratches through those device. If something is incuse on a coin, it usually is coin damage. (there are just a few cases where it is not)

I appreciate all the feedback Thank you , and I hope I can give you guys a good laugh on the fact that it really took me half the day to get that post up :) between the kids, the dogs and me trying to figure out how to post on a blog/ forum and add photos hahahah! All to find out I just have a silly ole quarter! But I am a true treasure hunter at heart and I have so much fun waiting for my next find!

Quote: What is SME? "Subject Matter Expert". 23 years in IT Operations, including Networking, Data Communication and IT Security for a large Manufacturing facility. Two or three years ago I was reminded of the importance of backups when my own laptop was stolen. The perp took the laptop and left my coins stacked all around it alone. The laptop or hardware itself was easily replaced, but some of the coin related data and links to reference material on it had not been backed up for a while. Added the line to remind everyone here that at any given moment in time a computer can fall victim to spyware, an opportunist (thief) or just fail to function. If its the storage device like the hard drive that fails the data can be rendered unrecoverable in many cases. If that's the case a backup is your only means of data recovery. Thanks, Doug.
