I have an 1889 VAM 18A with a rotated die. I am wondering if the rotated die is something that would be present on all examples of this variety, or if it is something that could be an anomaly. If it is only on this coin, would it increase the value? The rotation is approximately 15 degrees off. Any opinions would be appreciated.

no all the same VAM will not show a rotated die, it is just die marriage that makes the VAM, a rotated die is something that would have been fixed after a couple coins were struck

To add to what Bryan said, 15 degrees, although cool, isn't enough to really make a difference in the value of the coin.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought it was pretty cool to find an R-6 variety with a rotated die. I don't think I will ever sell it so I guess the value doesn't matter.
