Crocione 1796 minted in Milano under Austrian Rule. The obverse shows Franciscus II, emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.  The reverse has 3 crowns: Emperor, King and Archduke. The golden fleece below the flaming cross signifies his authority over the Catholic Southern Netherlands (most of today's Belgium and two Dutch provinces). It goes back to Burgundy rule (15th century).  |

1795 British Trade Token or "Conder" halfpenny token. Prince Frederick Augustus, Duke of York, the second son of King George III. D&H Middlesex 373. Gorgeous red-brown AU with luster. This particular token commemorates Frederick's election to the position of Past Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Freemasonry in November, 1790. He was entered as an Apprentice in 1787 at the 'Star & Garter' in Pall Mall, renamed as the Britannic Lodge #33, which later met as a lodge at the completed Freemasons' Hall in Great Queen Street. The edge is lettered "+ PAYABLE IN DUBLIN OR LONDON +".
