Picked this up for cheap at a coin show I attended today. Just thought I would share.

An incomplete clip or punch represents an area of the coin metal strip where the blanking die (punch) failed to penetrate completely. When the strip was then advanced, the blanking die then fully punched out a blank with evidence of the partially punched arcing indent evident inside the blank. The blank was then ultimately struck by cent dies.

Very cool. It seems that a lot of people confuse this for damage.

Very nice... they seem to be most common from 1961-1964 in the Canadian 1-cent series.

Nice coin Zimmy!
Why is it that you don't see very many incomplete clips for sale on ebay?

I don't think that there are very many or at least no one wants to sell them.

They are uncommon, but I have seen them in almost every denomination, and 1-cent strikes from the early 1960s seem to be the most abundant (relatively speaking).
