Here is an example of the bridge die cent..with Haxby 1a+E2 dies

Strange that this obverse die was used on the W9 over 8 cent firstly and then later to make the N9 cents. A very interesting occurrence..

How or why do you think that that happened..?

This cent "had" a slightly dished obverse which caused the bust to show wear quite quickly..(it has now been brought flat)

The dished effect caused very little wear to show on the reverse..and the obverse legend shows very well also.

That sounds like a question for Mr.Bosox :)

i agree it's very neat. There's basically a "Triple G" variety for 1859 W9/8, and a "Triple G" for 1859 N9 as well

I have your Volume II..Why do I not remember all that was said about this..?.....This is not good..

Here is the triple "G" in the W9 over 8....Turner OG3/RD6

..with this same obverse as the Haxby PC59-1a1,..you now see the die crack that has formed in the "R" of GRATIA..

..also well explained and shown in Rob's book.."The 1858 Cents Of Provincial Canada" Volume II, Second Edition..

RD6 was an interesting die in that it was the only W9/8 die where they did not repair the stem to leaf #9.
