Where do you think you see a die clash? And it is not silver.

to the forum! Very corroded coin you have there, that's all. The Washington quarters were made of 90% Silver until 1964. The 1965 and on business strike quarters are clad, no Silver.

From the side view, you can tell it is not a silver coin. You can see the clad layers on top and bottom, and whatever corroded the coin has eaten away at the copper layer in the middle. Could have been put in acid, or been underground in acidic soil for a long period of time.

Looks like was dipped in acid. The edge looks like I see copper. When they are acid dipped the edge copper goes away.

Coop nailed it, as always. The acid bath forced on this poor quarter in Dr. CoinHater's basement.

I know what silver sounds like I usually just flick the coin most of the time and I've become acustom to the difference doing it with many many different silver coins. So if was silver what should the weight be? Cause I want to weigh it

Quote: So if it was silver what should the weight be? Cause I want to weigh it Metal Composition: 91.67% Copper - 8.33% Nickel Weight: 5.67 grams. You're coin will weigh significantly less than 5.67 grams since acid or some other chemical has eaten away the copper. Your coin is not Silver
