I absolutely stole this large cent for only $22.50 U.S
Looking for grade. Seller advertised it as "vf+!" I somewhat agree, but the difference between vf and xf is a price difference of $80. Vf 20 sells for $45, while xf40 sells for $120. I imagine this is somewhere in between. (Not a professional photographer. Coin looks a lot better in hand)

Too grainy of a picture...and not enough lighting. Can't make a reasonable guess on grade. Sorry.

I'll bet the coin looks better in hand. I need a better photo.

i agree we need better pics, however, the large gash on the reverse would pull a details designation and reduce the value of the coin significantly. add this to what appears to be corrosion or maybe environmental damage from being improperly stored or cleaned could add to the degradation I'm not sure how much of a steal it was. hope it looks better in hand.

Coin looks VF Details ED, scratched. If the coin is grades VF Details, you paid fair market value.

IMHO, Slider23 is right on target here; this, unless better pics show otherwise. Also, there appears to be a reverse rim cut at about 12 o'clock.
Rest in Peace

I'll try to get better pics. I really didn't wanna brace the seven degree weather, but I guess I'll have to.

Should I take the coin out of the 2x2?

It's completely porous on both sides, the entire top of Liberty's head is missing at the coronet point, the rims are banged up and dented, and there is a huge gouge on the reverse just from the right of STATES down through the right wreath. VF details, sort of.

I'd value it around $10.
